Around here we write quite a bit about the impact of child care on the careers -- and career choices -- of working moms and dads and the companies who employ them.
Today, we're going to show not tell.
With Care.com’s third annual Cost of Care report we explore the myriad ways child care affects the lives of American families, covering a range of topics from household budgets to work-life challenges. More than half of the families we surveyed spend over 10 percent of their household income on child care, and 20 percent say child care costs command more than a quarter of their budget. It’s easy to see why so many are struggling to balance care and work.
We put together this infographic to show how working parents -- and their employers -- are feeling the effects of soaring child care costs.
